The first medical marijuana kitchen in the United States (US) opens on October 5 in Tempe, Arizona.
The full-service kitchen will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner including a range of foods containing cannabis.
Customers would require a medical marijuana card to be able to buy meals at the kitchen.
The kitchen will be run by the Mint Dispensary, which operates two medical cannabis facilities in Arizona.
The Mint Dispensary stores offer a diverse range of cannabis products, including vape cartridges, flowers, buds, edibles, and concentrates.
Similarly, the kitchen will have plenty of options for patrons to choose from. The menu includes different kinds of artisan burgers, pastas, and pizzas. The kitchen will also offer coffee, juices, gelato, and pastries.
The kitchen is the first of its kind. Patients have always had the option to buy pre-packaged marijuana-infused food from dispensaries, but the kitchen enables them to buy fresh meals prepared by chefs. The meals also come with a customized dose of cannabis, as required by the patient.
The aim is to make cannabis products more accessible to patients. By November, the team plans to start catering to large medicated events.
